Our Year 10 students brought their Beliefs and Values unit on Citizenship to a close with an exciting Mock Election experience held on Tuesday 21st October 2025.

As part of their learning about UK politics and democracy, students explored the main political parties, their key policies, and the real-world impact those policies could have on their lives and communities. They also discussed the importance of voting and the reasons why people choose to support different parties.

In preparation for the big day, students had the opportunity to put their questions directly to local political representatives, gaining a valuable insight into the democratic process and how political decisions are made.

To make the experience as authentic as possible, the school hall was transformed into a polling station, complete with ballot boxes and voting booths. Every student had the chance to cast their own vote on a ballot paper – just as they would in a real election.
