Students at Priestnall School were delighted to welcome professional actor and former Laurus Trust student, Maximus Evans, last week.
Maximus attended Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS) from 2012 to 2017 before studying at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
He now works as a professional actor, with credits spanning stage, screen and audio productions, including Coronation Street, Titus Andronicus and Hamlet with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Harry Potter Full-Cast Audio Edition and Never Let Me Go (UK tour).
During his visit to Priestnall, students took part in a Q&A session and were fascinated to hear Maximus’ insights into his training and career to date.

His journey is a shining example of perseverance and determination, and proved exceptionally inspiring for our young people.
Maximus also supported rehearsals for Lord of the Flies, which will be performed at Priestnall School during the Autumn Term. The cast responded enthusiastically to his direction and took on board his feedback to help shape their performances.

Mrs Edmonds, Trust Director of Drama, who taught Maximus and has been working with Priestnall students, said:
“It was a full-circle moment to see Maximus now inspiring the current drama students. Max himself took part in workshops during his own time at CHHS, and even then it was clear how much talent and commitment he had to his craft. I am proud of how much he has achieved both personally and professionally. Both myself and the students were completely inspired.”
Lord of the Flies will take place on Wednesday 30th September and Thursday 1st October 2026. Information regarding tickets will be shared after the summer holidays.
