On Tuesday 1st July, Mr Brown took students from Priestnall School on the annual Pride trip to The Proud Trust charity in Manchester.

The day began with a packed morning of creative workshops at The Proud Trust, where students explored and celebrated LGBTQ+ people.

In the afternoon, the group took part in a walking tour of Manchester city centre, following the city’s iconic rainbow mosaics.

Along the way, they learned about key figures and moments in LGBTQ+ history including the story of Alan Turing, the activism of Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners, and Manchester’s vital role in progressing equal rights.

It was a powerful and positive day for everybody – one that celebrated diversity and highlighted the importance of inclusion in our school and beyond.

At Priestnall School we work to ensure that our school is an inclusive environment for all. Read about last year’s celebrations: Pride 2024.
