There is plenty to celebrate at Priestnall School today as students collect an outstanding set of GCSE results, with both Year 11 and Year 9 achieving exceptional outcomes this summer.

Elliot and Olivia were delighted as they opened their results

For Year 11, the results represent another significant milestone for the school. Over a quarter of all grades achieved were at Grade 8 or Grade 9, while more than 40% of all grades were at Grade 7 or above, a remarkable achievement across the year group.

Amelie, Ellie and Caitlin celebrate an incredible suite of 18 grade 8 and 9s between them

There was further cause for celebration in English and maths, where 67% of Year 11 students achieved the key Grade 5 and above threshold, delivering the best-ever results in the school’s history.

This summer also marked an exciting first for Priestnall, with Year 9 students sitting their GCSE language exams. They rose superbly to the challenge, with well over half achieving Grade 7 or above and more than 80% securing at least a strong pass at Grade 5 or above.

Year 9 students Grace and Maddy were over the moon to achieve 9s in their Language exams

The results reflect not only the academic ambition of Priestnall students, but also the commitment, resilience and hard work they have demonstrated throughout their time at the school.

Dylan, Gus, Angus, and Artie achieved top grades across all their subjects, with 29 grades 7-9 between them

Head of School, Rachel Howarth, expressed her delight at the achievements:
“We are thrilled by the fantastic GCSE results achieved by Priestnall students. They are a wonderful reflection of the hard work, commitment and ambition our young people have shown during their time with us, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of them.

“For our Year 11 students, these results open the door to an extremely broad range of exciting opportunities, both within and beyond the Laurus Trust. For our Year 9 students, their success offers an early indication of just what they are capable of and lays strong foundations for their ultimate success in 2028.

“I am sure our students will join me in thanking their expert and dedicated teachers, who have nurtured their talents and encouraged them to achieve their very best, as well as their parents and carers for the invaluable support they have provided throughout their learning journey with us.

“Results day is an important punctuation point in these young people’s lives. Today is a moment to celebrate everything they have achieved, but it is also the beginning of what comes next. We wish every one of them the very best as they move forward towards the future of their choice.”
